Coffee at Midnight

I’m pleased to announce the release of my brand new collection, Coffee at Midnight. For those of you who’ve read my previous works, you’ll notice I’ve made a slight departure with this book, as the stories inside don’t necessarily deal with the darker side of human nature. Don’t worry, I’m not taking a permanent vacation from the macabre, but I do find myself with ideas for stories that don’t fit within the horror realm and a lot of the time, I don’t know what to do with them. So, I decided to take some of my favorites and compile them into a nice little collection that I hope readers will enjoy. Here’s the synopsis:

The clock strikes 12:00. A full moon hangs beyond the windowpane as the fireplace flickers and pops. Time to curl up in your favorite easy chair with a steaming mug and a cozy blanket. It’s going to be a long night.

Follow a bevy of buxom ex-call girls as they embark on a cross-country road trip and happen upon a crashed UFO. Join a trio of friends as they assemble for a rooftop barbecue and share their darkest secrets. Watch as an intoxicated bridesmaid stumbles her way through a crowded wedding reception to give an impromptu toast, but instead bears her soul. Listen in on a heated telephone conversation between a jealous boyfriend and his coed girlfriend as she shares a strange story concerning a bizarre favor.

Between the covers of this unusual collection, you’ll find these stories and many more, all guaranteed to tempt, tantalize, titillate the senses. In Brandon Ford’s Coffee at Midnight, you’ll experience a grab bag of ooddball situations and meet an array of quirky characters. So make sure the coffee’s strong, the fire’s warm, and the blanket’s soft. This’ll be a night you won’t soon forget.

Coffee at Midnight is available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle editions, as well as Smashwords in a variety of ebook formats (you can also download an extended sample here, absolutely free).

Back to Blogger

Well, I’m back.

I’ve spent the past two years of my life in Wordpress Hell and decided I just couldn’t take it anymore.  I’m sure many of you have no trouble navigating the WP layout and dashboard, but I couldn’t manage the simplest tasks without the beginnings of a bleeding ulcer and a nasty case of the cold sweats.  I couldn’t even post a quick update and include a photo to go along with it without finding myself lost in a myriad of options.  Seems to me there’s at least a dozen different ways to do the exact same thing.  So, I figured fuck it.  I’m done.

A few months ago, when I got the idea to start Brandon’sB-Movie Bonanza, I’d planned on doing it through Wordpress.  I spent four hours selecting options and altering a template to suit my fancy only to find that everything I’d focused my attention on would cost me upwards of $50.00.  Pardon me for assuming that setting up a blog was supposed to be a free service.

Before bursting a goddamn blood vessel, I shut it down and took it on over to Blogger.  I literally got everything the way I wanted it in less than ten minutes.  A simple template, a banner, even my first post.  So, I figured if using Blogger is so damned easy, why the hell am I killing myself over at Wordpress?

And once again, here I am.

As you may notice, none of my old posts are included here.  That was a conscious decision on my part.  To be honest, I kinda felt like the Lutz family during the final reel of The Amityville Horror.  They got in their car and fled, leaving behind all of their personal possessions and never returning for them, just like I did with most of the material posted over at Wordpress.  And anyway, the majority of what’s over there is old news and nonsense ramblings I’d probably wrench my face cringing at if I chose to give them a peek.  If anyone wants to look at them, they’re all still there.  Feel free.  I’ve decided to use this as an opportunity to start fresh with all new posts (most of which will probably be nonsense, too).

I do have some pretty exciting updates coming up, though.  Details about my brand new collection, Coffee at Midnight, as well as my fifth novel, The Final Girl, which will be released as a limited edition hardcover this fall.  I’m sure, given the right inspiration, I’ll post a video or two, so stay tuned for that as well.

Guess that’s all for now.  Thanks for stopping by and please check back soon!
